![]() ![]() Built-in light armor (2+ AC, 8+ Max Dex Bonus).Warforged are the non-flesh race of the DDO world and as such receive many pluses and minuses Each race has more than listed, and can be read in full by clicking on their name. I have only listed the Pros and Cons that are mainly directed around the building of a Rogue. In the creation of a Rogue, one must look at the pros and cons of each race and from there decide on which race to choose so that your Rogue has the stat improvements and feats and enhancements you desire.Īs you read through each description of the race choices, keep in mind the necessary base stats needed to create a well-functioning Rogue. I will first begin the actual guide from the beginning: Race choices However at the same time, a good rogue requires careful planning to live up to its maximum potential, and works best when played in a group as your main source of damage - sneak attacks - only works if someone else takes the beating. Playing a rogue can be a good choice for a beginner, since rogues are jacks-of-all-trades and are able to use a very large number of abilities and spells within the game. Some other melee classes may get away with leaving auto-attack on and getting a drink, but the best rogue will be constantly assessing the situation in order to turn things to its party's advantage. A good rogue should be constantly on the move or on the attack. The rogue class is not for players who want to take a passive role in their party. Rogues have the potential to do more damage in combat than any other melee class, can avoid traps and most spell damage, can use divine or arcane spells from scrolls or wands to resurrect and heal their allies or buff them and themselves and of course they can disable traps, open locks, and find hidden doors, or even instantly kill enemies using the assassination skill. Rogues are hugely versatile and resourceful - arguably the most versatile and resourceful of all melees. 4 Gameplay - find, sneak, disable, attack.3 Building your rogue - stats and paths.Looks like pretty close to a toss-up really. ![]() And, of course, if you aren't bypassing DR, the greater base damage of the Great Crossbow delivers a higher percentage of the damage to the target. OTOH, the Great Crossbow's base damage is double that of a Light Repeater, so effects that multiply will be more effective on it. So effects will proc about 60% more often with a repeater (That includes Sneak Attack damage). So it really depends on what effects vs base damage you have on the crossbows. Repeater: 27 groups of 3 bolts (total 81 shots or about 60% more). With RR & RS Feats, I enabled Endless Fusillade twice: once with Repeater, and once with Great Crossbow. I'll check on that as soon as I get that enhancement. I'm running a Rogue/Arti crossbow build atm. I've never done a test, but when the latter's active, they seem awfully similar. It's far from 3x as fast-firing once you get Rapid Reload, Rapid Shot, and Endless Fusillade. The counter-argument is that with repeater you get three times the chance to vorpal or critical hit (if you are proc'ing with your vorpal repeater you can really motor thru stuff). Rodfather původně napsal:I really like Great Crossbows for my pure Rogues primarily because of the knockdown effect and also good single shot dmg (usually around base dmg 90 by lvl 18). Used judiciously, it easily handles all the major fights between shrines, especially if you also invest in 3 levels of Extra Action Boost. It makes a Great Crossbow shoot almost as fast as a Repeater by eliminating the reload time. (However, Inquisitor enhancements don't work on either, only on regular Light or Heavy Crossbows.)Īnd if you take at least 4 levels of Arti, you can grab the enhancement "Endless Fusillade" at Tier 4 (prereq is a bunch of other goodies that boost crossbow damage). Rogue damage enhancements greatly favor Great Crossbows. The higher base damage means less worries about mob DR. Repeating Crossbows are awesome for the first few levels, but after that, I prefer Great Crossbows. Some are auto-granted to Artificers and/or Rangers, but I don't believe Rogues get any. In addition, without certain Feats, a crossbow-user of any type will be gimped. ![]() Iiuc, with the Great Crossbow you just get the usual penalties for lack of proficiency, but with the Repeater, it actually functions like a regular crossbow instead. Yes, you need an exotic weapon feat to use either the Great Crossbow or the Repeating Crossbows. ![]()
